Grocery Mate Privacy Policy

Grocery Mate helps people compare grocery products, plan shopping lists and track savings across supported Australian retailers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We may collect account information such as your name, email address, profile photo and sign-in provider when you choose to sign in. We also store app content you create or manage, including cart items, watchlist items, pantry items, shopping history, preferences and notification settings.

We may collect technical information such as device type, app version, network status, crash reports and basic usage events. This helps us diagnose issues, improve reliability and understand which features need work.

How we use information

We use your information to run the app, sync your shopping data, show relevant grocery sections, compare prices, remember preferences, support sign-in and improve the service. If you enable notifications, we use your preference to schedule weekly specials reminders.

Notifications

Grocery Mate only sends notifications when you allow them in the app and in your device settings. Weekly specials reminders are scheduled for Wednesday at 8:00 AM. You can turn notifications off from Profile > Preferences or from your device settings.

Sharing information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with trusted service providers that help operate the app, including authentication, hosting, storage, diagnostics and cloud services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the security of the service.

Retailer and product data

Grocery Mate uses grocery product and pricing information to help you compare shops. Prices, availability and specials may change without notice. You should confirm final pricing directly with the retailer before purchasing.

Storage and security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information. No app or network service can guarantee perfect security, so you should keep your device and account credentials secure.

Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, meet legal obligations, prevent abuse and maintain backups. You can remove app data from inside the app where supported, sign out of your account, or contact us to request account-related deletion.

Children

Grocery Mate is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
